Charles and Helpers at the Shows 2009

At the Countryside Alliance Show (Malvern, April 2009)

Caroline would like to say.....
There I sat at my table all ready to tie flies for the day, good I thought I can tie lots of flies for my two older grandsons.
The doors opened at 10am and in came a mass of Mum & Dad's children. What a wonderful day they had, there were endless practical things for them to do. Pottery, Spinning, Stringing small stools, Whitling wood, Looking for bugs in composted leaf mould, Tying trout flies. Etc Etc.
There was Falconcy, Ferret racing,Bantams and their chicks which they could hold. And... almost the best thing, was climbing all over an enormous tractor.
we never heard a cry or grumble the whole day from any child, they had a fantastic day out.

I am so glad I went to help Charles. ......Caroline

PS - I have never tied so many gaudy flies !!
